My father and son are both jazz musicians, and I love bringing jazz into the classroom! The following poems were created after students listened to selections from jazz and salsa musicians including Charlie Parker, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, and Louis Armstrong. Listening hard and then articulating your reactions is hard work--but fun.
