I am a silent stare

a falling teardrop

A dark spot in a bright background
I make you feel alone, a desperate desire for togetherness
Sitting on a bench in a park,

Surrounded by groups

No one wants me.
Until you’re backed into a corner, surrounded by people who want to know...

What did you do in school today?

Can you help me with the homework?

When are you going to start that project?

And you long for me again,

a silent stare,
a falling teardrop
