The Factory Inside Me
My body is a factory that keeps me going.
At the top of my head, where my brain is,
there lies an information faucet.
It drips
It sprays
information to my body, to the places
where I need it most.
Under my eyes, on my cheeks
are two small circles of water.
There’s a bridge connecting these circles.
The villagers inside my body
call these circles Rivers of Tears,
even though they aren’t really rivers.
A street starts at my neck
where it opens out to each of my arms.
These two streets end at my fingers
where little butterflies
all different kinds fly:
Butterflies of Excitement.
In my stomach there lives a gigantic sun.
You go here when you’re happy,
but there’s never really a time to be alone
because there’s always 3 women
sitting cross-legged around a huge hole
where they pump air into my lungs
to keep me alive.
