| Boosted grant revenue 50% in one year for Pros Arts Studio, a community-based organization in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. During my three years working with this organization, I have steered a strategic planning process, expedited changes in assessment, financial management and staffing, and trained the board in major gifts solicitation. Contributed to major donor acquisition and grant revenue growth for Reading In Motion, writing grant proposals that garnered a 42% increase over three years. I have worked for this great organization (which uses an arts-based reading program to boost reading achievement within Chicago Public School classsrooms) for five years. During
a two-year contract with Columbia College's Office of Community
Arts Partnerships (2000-2002), secured major funding for ambitious
new arts education initiatives from the NEA's first round of Arts
Learning awards, the Chicago Community Trust, Polk Bros. Foundation,
and others. Wrote proposals and participated in planning for new
MA in Arts in Youth and Community Development. Helped several grassroots clients
obtain key seed funding and advised on organizational development issues
such as staffing, program management, budgeting, market position, and
board development. |
