Only One Paper

I hear my parents talking
And arguing, my sister moaning,
My brother whining
"I sleep in your bed."

I feel like a blanket being fluffed out,
Like a mouth closing on a cough drop,
Like a robot
Getting shut down.

I become my cough drop
Drifting away in my mouth.
The clock ticking to midnight, as still as a statue.
As I jump on a cliff I fall
Softly in my bed
And dream, dream, dream.
