The Dark Night

I heard the sound
of the dark  buzzing silence,
The orange and red leaves rustling
Blowing on my tree,
Black and gray squirrels dashing
in the damp lawn.

I feel as tired as a frog at daytime.
I feel safe, comfortable, warm and peaceful.
I’m a huge dog with a big coat of fur,
A blue crayon on the patio,
melting on a warm day.

Then, I slowly drift away.
