  • Assisted HealthConnect One for six years, helping secure major funding from the Kellogg Foundation and other sources in support of community-based health innovations around the birthing year. 
  • Supported International Music Foundation during merger, assisting in transition and documentation of processes. Increased individual giving significantly. 
  • Taught Grant Writing Certificate Program at DePaul University, 2009-present.
  • Boosted grant revenue 50% in one year for Pros Arts Studio, a community-based organization in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. During my three years working with this organization, I have steered a strategic planning process, expedited changes in assessment, financial management and staffing, and trained the board in major gifts solicitation.
  • Contributed to major donor acquisition and grant revenue growth for Reading In Motion, writing grant proposals that garnered a 42% increase over three years. I have worked for this great organization (which uses an arts-based reading program to boost reading achievement within Chicago Public School classsrooms) for five years.
  • During a two-year contract with Columbia College’s Office of Community Arts Partnerships (2000-2002), secured major funding for ambitious new arts education initiatives from the NEA’s first round of Arts Learning awards, the Chicago Community Trust, Polk Bros. Foundation, and others. Wrote proposals and participated in planning for new MA in Arts in Youth and Community Development.
  • Selected by the Arts & Business Council of Chicago to be one of a handful of consultants implementing the Smartscope assessment tool to help A&BC clients prepare for strategic planning and change. Conducted 14 assessments since 2004.
  • Helped several grassroots clients obtain key seed funding and advised on organizational development issues such as staffing, program management, budgeting, market position, and board development.
  • Cordinated grantwriting campaign and wrote materials securing $2,000,000 in planning and continuation funds for major arts training program.
  • Raised $400,000 for three small non-profit clients over a two-year period, through proposal development and individual gift campaigns.
  • – Increased these clients’ annual grant revenue 30-60%.
  • – Authored applications for a client which were awarded $300,000 in federal grants from new sources for educational projects.
