Wax On
I created this body of work in Santa Fe, spring 2026, working with master printmaker Paula Roland, learning the craft of encaustic monotypes. The delight of melting and manipulating wax on a large hot plate, then printing onto Japanese papers! In a whirl, with the mountains on either side and the blue New Mexican sky above, I experimented with color and texture, schmoosh and structure. (Thanks to the Illinois Arts Council for a grant to support this residency). Most of these are 24” x 18”.
